Interesting how many of the percentages for both sexes are so close.
Interesting how infidelity seems to be stitched into the fabric of our lives. Some normalize the behavior, and for those against infidelity, they may have to share their lives with someone who innately has no issues with it. Very interesting findings here. I wonder how they gathered this data. I will check out the link to find out.
This site on which this info bit was taken proclaims to do only statistics, and I looked around a bit to verify credibility. I visited other sites before settling on this one for its signs of credibility. The findings are thought provoking, revealing, but yes, a statistic is mere magic until the methodology behind it is verified. However, the findings are not too different from other 2014 statistics I found on the subject.
An interesting study –

An excerpt-
Permissive sexual values reflect liberal religious and political ideologies. Men are more permissive than women. People with more schooling are more tolerant than people with less education. African Americans and people who live in big cities are also more tolerant of extramarital sex. Not surprisingly, people with permissive sexual values are more likely to have adulterous relationships. Only 10 percent of U.S. respondents who say extramarital sex is “always wrong” report having extramarital sex, as compare to 76 percent of respondents who say extramarital sex is “not at all wrong” (Smith 1994).
I came up as a single musician who was more or less expected to have more than one, more often than not the girls knowing each other and okay with the arrangement…. ah, the good old days….. I never had to suffer the slings and arrows of definition by disaster.
I would be interested to see the infidelity stats from 1994 to compare. Next project.
